How we handle your information
This page says what we do with personal information, why we are allowed to, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website, our enquiry form, and any message we send you about our services.

When you use the enquiry form we keep what you sent, your name, your work contact details and the organisation you wrote on behalf of. We use it to answer you and to arrange whatever you asked about. We keep it for as long as we are talking, and then for six years if it becomes work we did for you, because that is how long we may need to answer a question about it.
If we contacted you first
Sometimes we write to a named person at an organisation we think we can help, without them having contacted us. If that is how you reached this page, then we hold your name, your job title, your work email address and the organisation you work for. We do not hold your personal telephone number, your home address or anything about you outside your work.
Where we got it
The message we sent you says exactly where we got your details, in the message itself. It is either something your organisation published, or a business contact data provider we license from. We do not buy consumer lists and we do not use personal email addresses. If the answer in the message is not clear enough, ask us and we will tell you precisely.
Why we are allowed to
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. The interest is finding organisations that need the kind of security work we do, and telling them we exist. We wrote that reasoning down and weighed it against the effect on you before we sent anything, which is what the law asks for. We only write to people in a business role, about their work, at a work address. We do not write to sole traders or to ordinary partnerships, because the rules on electronic marketing treat them as individuals and we do not have their consent.
How to stop it, in one step
Every message we send carries a link that stops it. One click is enough. It applies to everything we might send you, not just the campaign the message came from, and it lasts. You do not need to give a reason, reply, or sign in to anything. If you would rather reply and say so in words, that works too and we record it the same way.
How long we keep it
If nothing comes of it, we delete a prospect record twelve months after we created it. If you tell us to stop, we keep the minimum needed to make sure we do not contact you again by mistake, and nothing else. If we end up working together, your details move into the records for that work and this page stops being the one that describes them.
Who else sees it
Our own staff, the suppliers who run our systems, and nobody else. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for anyone else to market to you, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. Our email is delivered by a provider who processes it only to deliver it. Where a supplier is outside the UK, the transfer is covered by the safeguards the law requires.
What you can ask for
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, and object to us using it at all. Where we rely on legitimate interests, as we do for anything described above, you can object and we will stop unless we can show a compelling reason not to. For direct marketing there is no such exception. If you object, we stop. Ask us by email and we will answer within one month.
If we get it wrong
Tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner, who regulates this in the UK, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. Complaining to them does not stop you asking us as well.
This website
We use only the cookies needed to make the site work and to keep a signed in session secure. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other sites.
